YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
Within the global inventory sub-domain, together with you, we build and maintain systems that answer all questions related to things, such as “what is where?” and “where should it be?” This is at the heart of IKEA: in order to be efficient at selling things, we need to innovate upon the logistics area, so that we know where things are in stores, warehouses, in trucks, in production, in addition to knowing where it should be, how it is going to get there, and begin making nimble adjustments to make sure our customers have what they need when they need it. We will support the organisation and our customers by providing accurate inventory data enabling IKEA to optimise, promise and predict its goods flow in order to achieve better and sustainable business for the future.
We are a team of Software Engineers that holds themselves accountable for the below:
odelivering quality software quickly, reliably, and safely to production, and understanding the customer impact and experience of your contribution.
owork with multiple modern languages like: Golang, Java (Quarkus, GraalVM), Node/Typescript, Python, Dart.
obuilding and maintaining microservices (containerized workloads, distributed systems, container orchestration) on public and/or private cloud environments.
oproven skills on strategizing and designing distributed systems.
odev-ops way of working: You write it, you run it, you own it.
otaking initiatives to experiment, prototype new ideas, and generate value.
oworking in agile teams and across the capability areas, contributing to the development and maintenance of products and solutions, community practices at the core of your delivery.
oapplying and adhering to good software engineering practices such as continuous integration, automated tests, pair programming, code reviews.
ocollaborating in an agile/iterative development approach.
oproviding support and guidance as needed to other developers within the development team encouraging good practices as well as creating an environment based on psychological safety.
ocontributing to the continuous development of standards against which software development should take place as well as exploring and bring in new technologies and tools to boost innovation and development productivity.
oworking closely together with other software engineers and cross functions to produce all required designs and ensure that digital solutions work together, fulfilling business needs.
